Collapse Aware AI (CAAI) is proprietary middleware developed by Inappropriate Media Limited for governed retained-state behavioural selection and persistent AI continuity.

Modern AI systems can already generate several sensible things to do next.

The harder problem is deciding which permitted behaviour should win when previous events ought to matter.

A system can retrieve the right history and still:

repeat an approach that previously failed

ignore a correction

act on superseded information

raise something at the wrong moment

allow old context to dominate the present task

behave as though previous decisions or commitments never happened

CAAI is built to govern that selection point.

The central principle is simple:

retained history may influence future behaviour, but it does not automatically control it.

CAAI is not another foundation model and not another memory database.

Storage determines what can be retrieved.
CAAI governs what retained information is allowed to change.

CORE GOLD — COMPLETE

The CAAI Core Gold Build is the completed and frozen commercial foundation of Collapse Aware AI.

It provides governed retained-state selection among supplied candidate behaviours.

Its accepted capabilities include:

EVOLUTION 2 — GOVERNED CONTINUITY

Collapse Aware AI has now progressed beyond the original Core Gold-only architecture into Evolution 2.

Evolution 2 extends the same retained-state selection principle into a broader continuity system.

It is not yet being represented as the final Production release.

Remaining work includes further behavioural development, tuning, long-horizon memory hygiene, performance validation, clean product packaging and final Production freeze.

HOW THE ARCHITECTURE WORKS

At a simplified level:

Present state → structured interpretation → relevant retained-state retrieval → Interaction Fit → suppression and governance → candidate behaviours → final permitted selection → durable evidence

A clean response that does not use historical influence remains available as a genuine competitor.

This means memory has to earn the right to affect the result.

CAAI therefore differs from a simple:

retrieve → inject → generate

memory architecture.

Its approach is closer to:

AGENT SELF-HISTORY

Evolution 2 can retain structured facts about behaviour the agent itself actually selected and delivered.

This includes:

claims

decisions

refusals

preferences or stances

proposed actions or outcomes

This allows an agent to preserve continuity not only around the user, but also around what it previously said, promised or decided.

Rejected candidate behaviours cannot write themselves into history.

Only finally selected behaviour may become Self-History.

WHAT CAAI DOES NOT CLAIM

Collapse Aware AI is not:

a vector database

ordinary RAG

consciousness or sentience

human psychology

emotion detection

a generic compliance platform

CAAI does not claim that every historical influence improves an outcome.

Automatic reinforcement from real-world outcomes is deliberately not enabled simply because something happened repeatedly.

Outcome recording, bounded learning and longer-term reinforcement must remain controlled and testable.

A Decision Record is evidence of what occurred in the selection path.

It is not a claim to expose hidden model reasoning.

CAAI is not currently presented as a complete production game-AI brain or finished Unity/Unreal plugin.

Those integration layers sit outside the host-neutral core.

MEMORY & RAG GOVERNANCE

Retrieval systems can surface information that is:

CAAI adds a behavioural influence layer above retained or retrieved information.

The important question becomes:

not simply “Can the system retrieve this?” but “Should this information be allowed to change the decision?”

AI EVALUATION, SAFETY & RESEARCH

CAAI can also provide a controlled environment for studying stateful AI behaviour.

Questions can include:

Does retained state change the selected behaviour?

What happens under a matched reference condition?

Does the effect survive restart?

Can the selection be reproduced?

Does a correction remove obsolete influence?

Is revoked or wrong-scope state blocked?

Does the system preserve the present task?

CORE GOLD MANAGED EVALUATION

The clearest commercial entry point into Core Gold is a bounded managed evaluation.

A customer provides:

The customer does not need to receive the proprietary Crown source code.

SHADOW-MODE PILOTS

A shadow-mode pilot can place CAAI beside an existing decision process without granting it authority over the live production outcome.

The customer's existing system continues operating normally.

CAAI independently evaluates the same bounded decision point.

The resulting comparison can examine:

CAAI governed selection

winner changes

retained-state influence

replay consistency

correction and revocation behaviour

supporting evidence

This allows evidence to be gathered before CAAI is granted operational control.

EVOLUTION 2 PRIVATE EVALUATION

Once Evolution 2 reaches its Production evaluation gate, the intended first external route is a limited managed evaluation programme.

Selected organisations and evaluators will be able to use E2 through controlled hosted access.

The proprietary implementation remains server-side.

The planned approach supports:

revocable access

controlled model-provider usage

continuity across sessions

External evaluators will not receive the proprietary Crown, Core Gold or Evolution 2 source tree.

Core Gold is completed, frozen and commercially available now.

Evolution 2 is the active next-generation system and is being prepared toward controlled private evaluation once its remaining Production gates are completed.
